Terms
Terms of use
US Funeral Expense is run by WeldonPC (Weldon Hastings). By using it you agree to these terms.
What it is
US Funeral Expense sells no funerals, plots, insurance or loans, takes no referral fees and never names or ranks funeral homes.
It is a calculator and a guide. It adds up the prices you type and quotes the FTC Funeral Rule (16 CFR Part 453) and the FTC’s consumer pages. It is an independent site: not a government agency, not a funeral home, not a cemetery, an insurer or a lender. Its results are arithmetic and information to help you compare and ask questions, not legal or financial advice. State laws can add requirements; your state’s funeral licensing board can tell you about them.
Your prices
You are responsible for the prices you type. The funeral home’s own price lists and its itemized statement are what count; check them before you sign anything.
Family Folder
A Family Folder opens with a private link. Anyone holding the link can open, change or delete the folder, so keep it private. A lost link cannot be recovered: there is no account or email to reset it. Folders not opened for 400 days are deleted.
Planning Pass
The Planning Pass is optional. It costs $1.95 for one month or $19.50 for one year, paid once and adds room (more lists side by side, more saved estimates, a spreadsheet download); everything needed to read a price list and learn your rights stays free. It is a one-time purchase: $1.95 buys one month (31 days) and $19.50 buys one year (365 days), counted from the payment. It does not renew and nothing is charged again, so there is nothing to cancel; a Pass bought while another is running starts when that one ends. When a Pass ends, saved estimates stay and the free limits apply again. During the preview it is free and nothing is charged; when paying opens, PayPal takes the single payment.
Fair use
Daily limits stop automated abuse (new folders, link tries and saves per day). Don’t try to break, overload or scrape the site.
No warranty
The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, WeldonPC is not liable for decisions made using it.
